If the experience pack is owned, an augmented reality menu is activated by viewing the slide-reel through the View-Master headset, or any other Google Cardboard compatible headset. The digital download version does not include the slide-reel, so the menu is not presented through augmented reality. The rest of the game is the same in both versions.

View-Master Batman Animated VR,[1][2] also available as the View-Master Batman: The Animated Series Experience Pack,[3] is a virtual reality adventure video game that was released in 2016 for iOS and Android devices. It was developed and published by Mattel in conjunction with the Warner Bros. Blue Ribbon Content digital series production unit and DC Comics. It is based on the DC Comics character, Batman, and the television series Batman: The Animated Series. A few of the voice actors from the series reprised their roles for the game.

Plot Edit

Batman needed help with his missions, so he equipped the Batwing with the ability to control it remotely, and hooked up a holographic video monitor that he or Alfred Pennyworth could use to talk to the person seated inside.

Gameplay Edit

The game consists of choosing various destinations around Gotham City, and then listening and reading clues to solve puzzles and to decide where to travel next. The majority of the mission information comes from Alfred, as Batman is usually finding out information in another part of Gotham. Batman will sometimes appear, via a holographic avatar, to divulge new information, or on-location, where he can be seen through the windows of the Batwing.

Publicity Edit

Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series announced on September 13, 2016 that the Blue Ribbon Content studio cooperated closely with OTOY to create a virtual reality version of Batman: The Animated Series. He stated, “We are extremely excited for our fans to be able to experience ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ in a new and immersive way.”[4]
