Not a Justice Lord

This article should be retitled to something along the lines of Flash (Justice Lord Universe), or otherwise contain language to make clear that the Flash was never a Justice Lord. In this parallel universe, the surviving members of the Justice League became the Justice Lords after, and in response to, Wally's death. --BoneGnawer (talk) 19:21, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

There's been so much discussion on this topic before. It's never stated that the group went by League originally. They're only ever called Lords. It's never explicitly or even implicitly mentioned they changed their name after the incident. In fact, Lord Batman expresses surprise that the other team is called the "Justice League" rather than the "justice Lords" and that they still have their Flash - not something someone would say if they were called the League before they lost the Flash. I'll agree that there is some ambiguity in the episodes on this point. My reasoning is based on a few things. First, the opening scene shows that prior to Flash and Luthor's deaths in their universe, the league in the parallel universe was identical to the mainstream universe's. Second, "Justice Lords" is an authoritarian name, suited to their changed methods after the catalyzing event. Lord Batman's making note of the teams' different names is done to communicate to the rest of his team an assumption that they haven't been through the same things that turned their league into lords.

I was unaware that this was a previously-hotly debated topic. I've been away from the wiki for quite a while and there was no content on this talk page. I'm happy to concede the point League/Lords point for now. The wholesale reversion of my cleanup of this weak article was unnecessary though. I'll avoid the reference to the League/Lords transition, but I will re-address the other weaknesses of the article. --BoneGnawer (talk) 01:24, August 1, 2016 (UTC)
