Sportsman was a member of the Injustice Guild.
History[]
When new heroes arrived in Seaboard City, the Injustice Guild decided to rob the city dry by doing a contest where each member pulls off a crime related to the elements of the ancient world. Sportsman chose earth and decided to steal a tennis championship trophy. Cat Man, with Ray Thompson and J'onn J'onzz pursued him but got away after J'onn experiences a painful psychic vision.
He and the rest of the Injustice Guild were beaten by the combined forces of the Justice League and Justice Guild. It is unknown if he survived the war or if he is a projection of Ray's mind since he's not seen again afterwards.

- Sportsman is based upon the Golden Age Sportsmaster, Crusher Crock.
- Sportman's voice, mannerisms, and appearance (particularly the famous "ski-nose") may be something of a caricature of famous actor and comedian Bob Hope.
