"Seemed like everyone and her sister had a way in: Harley, Ivy, Catwoman.""
— Selma Reesedale

The Special Crimes Dangerous Evidence Vault is a pivotal location in the Gotham Girls web series, part of the DC Animated Universe (DCAU). This high-security facility houses confiscated items from Gotham's most notorious criminals, including devices from Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, the Riddler, and the Penguin. Its significance grows as various characters attempt to access or steal from it, leading to key plot developments. The vault serves as a central element in the Gotham Girls series, acting as a repository of dangerous artifacts and a catalyst for various storylines. It's contents and the events surrounding it drive character motivations and plot progression, making it a cornerstone of the series' narrative.

History[]

Access[]

The original access key was owned by James Gordon but later the locks to the Special Crimes Dangerous Evidence Vault were changed by Detective Selma Reesedale who informed Barbara Gordon that her father’s keycard no longer worked. This change was part of a larger cover-up to prevent access to evidence related to a secret operation involving the forced transformation of men into women in Gotham. Reesedale herself was one such victim—originally a man—now used as both an enforcer and a symbol of the new regime led by Commissioner Greenway. The lock change was a deliberate move to keep Barbara from discovering the truth hidden within the vault but later she gives to her anyway allowing her access and leading to the last episode where she discovers the truth.

Lockers[]

Penguin's Locker: It has his trick umbrellas.

Two Face's Locker: It has a head statue, a large coin and two-sided or "two-faced" bomb balls.

Riddler's Locker: It has his hat, his shorts, a perfume and a gun.
