The Society of Shadows was a formidable organization helmed by Ra's al Ghul.

History

The organization consisted of highly trained assassins who were fiercely loyal to Ra's. They took care of most menial work, and often stalled Batman allowing their leader to escape.

Background information

The Society of Shadows is based on the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul's organization in the comics. In Batman: Gotham Adventures, it is shown that the League also exists, and works in conjunction with the Shadows. Other adaptations have adopted the "Shadows"; both Batman Begins and Young Justice name the organization League of Shadows.
