The Shaman Staff was a mystical Native American artifact.
History
The staff was fabled to have mystic healing powers. It did so by draining the energy from one healthy person, and transplant it into a sick one. An ailing Ra's al Ghul sent Talia to steal it from a cargo train heading towards Metropolis, and also to bring Superman with her. He planned to harness the strength of the Man of Steel. Ultimately, the plan was foiled when Superman crushed the gemstone in the staff, nullifying all the effects of its use.
