- Englund is best known for playing supernatural killer Freddy Krueger in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street and its many sequels, including a spinoff television series. Englund has also capitalized on his recognizability by playing supporting roles in a number of other thriller and horror films, including Urban Legend and Wishmaster.
- Other comic book roles include voicing The Riddler in the non-DCAU series The Batman, Adrian Toomes (a.k.a. Vulture) in The Spectacular Spider-Man and Scarecrow in the video game Injustice 2.
