The Scientists behind "Project Zeta"

The Scientists behind "Project Zeta"

You may have been looking for the series The Zeta Project.

Project Zeta, also known as the Zeta Project, was a government project in the late 2030s and early 2040s.

History[]

Project Zeta's goal was to create a perfect infiltration unit synthoid, one that could replace or assassinate people and infiltrate organizations. Built on the offshore base Knossos, its fruit was Infiltration Unit Zeta. However, Selig secretly put a conscience module into Zeta without telling his superiors, in the hope of preventing him from being a "killer", and was unaware it worked.[1]

The project was far enough from 2042 that Selig remarks a disguised Zeta seems too young to have been on it, while close enough that Zeta could plausibly pretend to have been "just starting out".[1]

Though Five of the total Six scientists behind the project were seen and named on various episodes, the one of the right centre of Zeta in the picture was only ever remarked as a hologram. Two of its alumni, Thomas Boyle and Dr. Myrell, would prove to be corrupt and carried out crimes before being ironically defeated by Zeta himself.

Zeta had many built in accessories including the following:

Bennett described him as having a "high endurance Endo frame, equipped with a full array of weapons and tools, [and] a holographic emitter onboard [that] conceals the rig while letting Zeta mimic its targets".

Zeta was originally equipped with a full arsenal of destructive weapons, such as a grenade launcher, at least six pistols and a plasma cannon. After his first encounter with Batman, he discarded most of these devices, but held on to a laser torch, which he used to perform repair work on himself and cut through metal and wire. A pair of circular saws were folded into his wrists that would unfold and spin when used. A pair of lasers were stored in his forearms, which would open to allow the lasers to raise above his arm. He is also equipped with a built-in cred card that can generate an unlimited number of credits, allowing him to pass without suspicion.

There was also a miniature camera located in one of his index fingers, useful for looking around corners and edges without drawing attention.
