To describe his newly discovered power of enhanced hearing, Clark told Lana he could hear Jenny tell Pete her parents were out for the night—to the annoyance of Lana.
Background information[]
In the comics, Pete Ross was the best friend of Clark Kent. He married Lana and the two of them got a child—though they later divorced. Ross served as Vice President under Lex Luthor, and briefly as President following the latter's impeachment.
The audio commentary track for the episode "New Kids in Town" misidentifies Kenny Braverman as Pete Ross.
