Mr. and Mrs. Groote were on a vacation in Madrid when their credit card was suddenly maxed out. They went home looking for the cause, and found out their house had been destroyed. According to Mr. Groote when scolding Howard in the ending, Mrs. Groote had an antique doll collection.
