Mitchell Ryan (born January 11, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio - March 4, 2022 in Los Angeles, California) was an American film and television actor, best known for playing Burke Devlin in the 1960s gothic soap opera Dark Shadows and Charlie McCoy in Magnum Force in the Dirty Harry franchise (which John Vernon and Tim Matheson were a part of). More recent roles include General Peter McCallister in the first Lethal Weapon film, and Edward Montgomery, the father of one of the two title characters, on Dharma & Greg (in which his on-screen wife was played by Susan Sullivan).
