Jodi Benson (born October 10, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois) is an American actress and singer, best known as the voice of Ariel, the eponymous character of Disney's 1989 animated film, The Little Mermaid (which co-starred Rene Auberjonois, Paddi Edwards, Kenneth Mars, Edie McClurg and Kimmy Robertson). She voiced the similarly water-themed hero Aquagirl in Batman Beyond.
