James Bennet, Jr. was the son of Special Agent James Bennet.

History[]

Agent Bennet's pursuit of Zeta put a considerable strain on his family life. Even on his weekends off, he would research his subject. This did not do his relationship with his son any good.

In order to make up for a cancelled sailing trip, Bennet took his son along on a research trip to the Burnette Marine Research Center. He stalled his son with one of the employees, and ordered him to take him on a sub ride. Unbeknownst to him, Ro had also secured a seat on the sub. Neither was very fond of sharing a seat—James wanted quality time with his father, Ro with Bret.

Annoyed by his passengers, Bret steered them into the coral. He was distracted, and crashed into the frame. Water started seeping in the sub. Ro tried to get the sub back to work, while James worked on the radio. He managed to contact the surface, and help was sent.

James had managed to find the manual pump, and started pumping. Ro had by now learned who James was, and James commented that she probably saw more of his dad than he did. Bennet Sr. and Zeta made it to the sub. Though Agent Bennet wanted to transfer his son to the good sub, James Jr. refused. He wanted to stay with his father. Reluctantly, he agreed. James Jr. worked the pump, while his father steered the craft and Zeta guided it. Ro brought up Bret in the other sub.

On the surface, Agent Bennet wanted to take in Zeta, but instead of shooting the synthoid, he helped his son aboard a support vessel.
