Jake was a personal trainer of crime lord Rupert Thorne.
History[]
Jake was hired by mobster Rupert Thorne to serve as his personal trainer. One day during the boxing class, Dick ordered Thorne to hit the punching bag with much force. Not satisfied with the blows of his boss, Jake made a big mistake: he told Thorne that his weak fists were the reason why Batman always shut down his operations. Thorne, furious, knocked out Jake with a punch, arguing that good coaches are no longer available, an argument that the newly arrived assassin Bane backed. After taking off his boxing gloves, Thorne asked his secretary Candice to tell Jake once he regained consciousness that he was fired.[1]
