Hackle was a lieutenant of Internal Affairs.
History[]
Hackle was assigned to investigate what went wrong during a sting operation. He was hard on those involved - officers Renee Montoya and Wilkes, and detective Harvey Bullock. Faced with conflicting testimonies, he suspected that either one or all were corrupt, and suspended all of them from duty. Hackle was less than pleased that Montoya went out on her own, but Commissioner Gordon, rather fiercely, closed the investigation, pointing out that the gang was in custody and the GCPD recovered the bait money, meaning that there was nothing more to investigate.
