The Grandview Science Museum was a science museum located in Grandview City.
History[]
As well as standard facilities (such as security offices, restrooms, and a conference room), The Grandview Science Museum had attractions spanning at least 5 stories, with highlights including:
- A hall of robotics, showcasing experimental synthoid designs developed over the years, including an entire wing dedicated to 20th century models.
- An antique electric car exhibit
- A multi-story human body ride thru
- A Giant electro magnet
- A Gyroscope
- A miniature replica of Grandview City powered by a nuclear fusion reactor.
While on the run from the NSA, Ro and Zee visited the museum in search of Eli Selig. Usingthe museum's map, the duo found out the doctor was giving a lecture in the 4th floor conference room. While waiting for the lecture to let out, the two found themselves touring the museum's robotics hall. Thrilled to be exploring his roots, Zeta attempted to communicate with the primitive robots until being drug away by Ro.
Meanwhile, a group of museum patrons dispersed as they waited for the next fusion reactor demonstration. Among them were Cora Kay Walker and her mother, Whitney Walker, who headed towards the restroom just past the antique-electric-car exhibit, and under the giant electromagnet and left at the gyroscope display. Rounding the corner, Zeta and Ro found themselves headed the same direction as they discussed a careful approach to meeting Dr. Selig. However, not having kept up with the tour group, the two were unaware of the electromagnet until it caught Zee and suspended him high in the air, drawing the attention of patrons and museum security. Recognizing Zee from his federal warrant, the head of security ordered the guards to leave the rogue infiltration unit be as he contacted the NSA.
Among the chaos, Ro noticed the control switch for the electromagnet and hurriedly freed Zee from its grasp, raising the alarm of security staff who watched from the fifth floor. Dropping to the floor, Zeta left behind a set of indented footprints where the weight of his body struck the ground. The two evaded the security guards, and Zee eventually holo-morphed into an even younger boy as they enetered the human body ride thru alongside Whitney and Cora Kay Walker.
Meanwhile, the head of security let his floor staff in on the idea that Zeta's a killer robot, and told them the NSA was en route.
Exiting the ride, Zeta and Ro headed towards Eli Selig's recently finished lecture, and the Walker family returned to their tour group to head towards the fusion reactor demonstration. Without her mother noticing, Cora Kay slipped away and wandered into the unattended reactor. Realizing her child was trapped within the reactor, Whitney Walker shrieked in horror . Zee and Ro ran towards the piercing sound and came to find out the reactor has three minutes til it goes off. Swiftly, security attempted to free the little girl, but the reactor override was jammed. Listening in, Zee overheard their concern that there was nothing they could do in time. Resolved to help Cora Kay, Zeta jumped into action. Dodging the guards, he ripped the handle clear off the reactor door. The electrical feedback disrupted the synthoids hologram and revealed his true form to the museum audience, including the NSA agents watching from the security monitors. Zeta pried his fingers into the reactors metallic casing, and ripped a hole in the side. Having freed the frightened child, Zee returned her to her mother .
With a matter of seconds left until the reactor would go off, a security guard informed Zeta that if he didn't re-seal the hole, the radiation would leak, and mass harm to the museum patrons. As Zee worked to weld the hole shut, the security officer sent his boss a notice to evacuate the building. The guard attempted to get Ro out as well, but she refusesdto leave her friend.
Preoccupied with everyone's safety, Zeta noticed Dr. Selig on an upper floor balcony amongts the throngs of evacuating patrons. However, before Zee was even able to get a good look at the doctor, he vanished. The synthoid returned to the task at hand, and continued to weld the hole shut, finally making it with 2 seconds to spare.
The peace was short lived as Agent Bennet and his team arrived just moments after the reactor finally began its demonstration. Ro implored the guard on duty to help save her and Zeta, but instead he grabbed her by the wrist, and drug her off, leaving an opening for the NSA agents to apprehend Zeta. To the agents surprise, as Agent Lee and Agent West rushed the synthoid, they were caught by the electromagnet and left dangling in the air.
As the security guard allowed Ro to make her escape, Agent West unbuckled his weapon's vest to chase after them. Luckily for him, Agent Lee reacted quickly and caught her partner before he was injured by the fall. Elsewhere, Bennet continued to tail Zeta throughout the museum. Zee, using his robotic arms as grapling hooks to propel up the museum levels, was cut off by Ro who led them to the hall of robotics to hide from Bennet. Unable to conduct a timely search through the hall filled with synthoids, Bennet gave up.[1]
