I don't think this is disrespectful towards them, because admin status is not one of prestige or reward, but one of responsibility. It's about having the necessary tools to maintain the site up and running. If an admin does not use those tools, then he doesn't need them. Plain and simple. If they happen to return, they can go through a process of RfA. ― '''[[User talk:Thailog|T]][[User:Thailog|hailog]]''' 22:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

As of the last update, bureaucrats became able to remove sysop flags. Since then, several wikis reached community consensus as to remove sysop and crat flags from inactive admins. I think we should take the same tenet here. I mean, there are three bureaucrats here but I am the only active one. It doesn't make sense when we can have only active admins. I propose a motion to demote administrators that have gone AWOL or have given up on the site/community for over a year.

― Thailog 22:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
