Dwayne McDuffie is an American comic book writer, and was a producer of Justice League Unlimited.
History
McDuffie was an artist at Marvel Comics and Harvey Comics before setting Milestone Media. With Denys Cowan and several others, he created the Dakotaverse - Static, Icon, Hardware and many others. Milestone went under due to bad sales, and its properties were taken over by DC Comics.
McDuffie was one of the key writers of Static Shock, and was later taken into the Justice League creative team. By the time the series had evolved into Justice League Unlimited, he had become a producer.
On February 22, 2011, Comic Book Resources reported that Dwayne McDuffie had died from complications due to a surgical procedure performed Monday evening[1]
