Clive Revill (born April 18, 1930 in Wellington, New Zealand) is a New Zealand actor and singer. Outside of British theatre, he is also known as the original voice of the Emperor in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, before being dubbed by Ian McDiarmid in later versions of the film.
DCAU filmography[]
DCAU Roles
Batman: The Animated Series
- "On Leather Wings" - Alfred Pennyworth, Gotham Air One radioman (uncredited)
- "Christmas With the Joker" - Alfred Pennyworth
- "Nothing to Fear" - Alfred Pennyworth
Background information[]
- Revill voiced Alfred in the first three episodes of Batman: The Animated Series but left prematurely because he had a previous acting commitment. Alan Burnett has stated he "did such a nice job that we didn't feel compelled to [re-dub him]."[1]
- He also voiced the airship's radioman in "On Leather Wings", which gives him (production-wise) the first speaking part of the DCAU.
