Superheroes are defined by the public as certain heroes admired for their vigilantism or selflessness. While many of them possess superhuman abilities, many heroes employ raw talent and prodigious skills in battle. While many of them are considered outlaws by federal policy, they are usually well-admired by the community which they serve and protect. Each hero has their own reason why they continue to fight evil, but all seek to promote the greater good. Many heroes believe that their superhuman abilities give them an obligation and a strong sense of responsibility to protect the innocent. Other people such as Batman, have personal reasons for becoming heroes, occasionally because of a tragic past.
