Superman stores Brainiac's orb in his Fortress of Solitude.
Brainiac's orb was the memory orb containing all the information on Krypton. Superman rescued it from Brainiac's ship as it exploded. It provided Superman with valuable background information about his native planet, and Professor Hamilton managed to build a new Phantom Zone projector with the blueprints the orb contained.
The orb appears to allow the toucher to interact with time and space as Superman almost communicates with his father Jor-El and he apparently talked to a past version of Brainiac.
Despite the lack of any distinguishing features between the data orbs, Superman somehow managed to grab Krypton's when he escaped Brainiac's exploding ship.
