Brainiac's asteroid was Brainiac's base of operations, located in deep space within a belt of asteroids.
It was an asteroid shaped into the likeness of Brainiac's head. Darkseid intended on using Brainiac program there to consume the entire universe and find the Anti-Life Equation. It was eventually destroyed in a massive explosion when Batman caused a system overload. Darkseid was killed in the blast.[1]
Some time after the destruction, Lex Luthor found the debris field of the asteroid with Tala's help. He intended to reconstitute Brainiac from the debris, but due to Tala's interference, he resurrected Darkseid by accident instead.[2]
