Boyd Douglas Kirkland (November 11, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah – January 27, 2011 in Los Angeles, California) was an American animation director. He worked on several Batman: The Animated Series episodes and movies. He also developed a concept of a Lobo animated series for WB with John McCann and Steven Gordon, but the series wasn't picked up.[1] Several elements, such as "Smiley Joe", were eventually incorporated in Lobo: Webseries.
