Boom, real name Byron, was a Bang Baby. He had the ability to blast out sonic booms from the sound speaker embedded on his chest.

History

Never originally a gang banger, Byon and his sister a quiet decent life in the suburbs. After the death of his parents, he and Mirage fell on hard times; leaving the peace of suburbia and moving into a Dakota housing project. After stepping in a spill from the Big Bang, Byron became a living boom box able to generated and direct powerful sonic pulses, hence the name. Desperate to return to their normal lives Byron saw his new found powers as an excuse to commit robberies, using their ailing grandmother to justify his spree to his sister. He was ultimately defeated by Static with the help of Mirage, who had turned on him, finally fed up with his new lifestyle.

Later, Boom lost his power after Dr. Todd's bang baby cure was sprayed in the air. He joined Ebon and Hotstreak in their attempts to regain their powers, but failed.
