Arthur Reeves was once a worker of Carl Beaumont, father of [[Andrea Beaumont]]. It was at work that Andrea introduced her father and Artur to Bruce Wayne who will later become [[Batman]] When Carl and Andrea hid to Europe so they can escape [[Salvatore Velestra]] and his gang, Arthur quit his job and decided to run for Councilman while Andrea's lover, Bruce Wayne became Batman. During his first electional campaign, Reeves was running out of money and asked Carl for help, but Carl said no. So Arthur sold Carl's location to Valestra, and Carl got murdered by one of the gang members. Andrea seeked revenge for her fathers killers, and assumed the role of The [[Phantasm]]. When The Phantasm began to kill some of the gang members, Arthur, councilman at the time was certain that Batman did the killings. [[James Gordon]] didn't belive that it was true and told Reeves that he had no part in it. During the time, Reeves began to date Andrea. When Salvatore Valestra got killed, Batman was almost captured by the police, but got away. This angered Reeves when he found out on the phone. So frustrated, he hung up. But he heard a voice from the doorway. Arthur turned and gasped in shock for the last hitman of the Valestra gang, the killer of Carl Beaumont, was no other than Batman's greatest enemy, [[The Joker]]! Artur was surprised when The Clown Prince of Crime told him Batman didn't kill their friends, but someone else. After getting a call from Andrea, Arthur got gassed by the Joker's laughing gas and got sent to hospital. |
