Even though it was considered Taboo to even depict domestic on American adult oriented media to the point that the music video for Garth Brookes’ song The Thunder rolls is Banned from MTV (a channel that shows a lot of content considered taboo on American television at the time), they got away with depict domestic abuse in a children’s show via the introduction of the character known as Harley Quinn.

What are some things from the DCAU that you want to see in the DCU?
Should there be a category for LGBT characters? One of the reasons DCAU was notable among other superhero cartoons of the time was its LGBT representation (among other grounded themes that had to bypass censorship).
I just began editing on that wiki and realized that very few people have edited it in recent years. There aren't even any active admins on it. Please help contribute to the wiki to keep it alive.

It’s cool that we grew up with the same thing. I think his version of John in the DCU will be pretty similar to the DCAU version. I’m so excited for Lanterns!
Justice League vs. The Fatal Five and Batman & Harley Quinn have both been deemed canon by Bruce Timm, and by it's references to the previous serieses.
